Made by great uncles as a wedding gift for the owners parents in the late 1940’s, the joints of eight oak dining chairs had become loose with the years of use. There was evidence of previous attempts to repair them with nails and additional glue but sometimes the only way to do a lasting repair is to dismantle the frames, clean the joints and remove nails, and then reassemble with fresh glue and corner braces.
The result is a set of eight stiff and serviceable chairs that link the family back to their great uncles, parents and family days.
