After providing great service to the family for over a generation, this stool was in need of restoration.
The stool was disassembled, cleaned, polished and reassembled with a new seat and cover.
Materials:
Rust removal: Aluminium foil and vinegar, ScotchBrite scratch free scouring pads.
Paint removal: Selleys Kwik Strip
Seat: 18 mm plywood and captive nuts. EVA foam and 3mm foam cover. Leather cloth cover.
Fixings: 4mm aluminium pop rivets for steps. 6mm stainless steel machine screws for seat. 18AWG bronze annular nails for seat trim. 8mm staples.
Adhesive: F50 contact adhesive for rubber step runners.
Polish: Liquid silicone wax
